Challenge:
PepsiCo faced a significant challenge in modernizing their IT infrastructure across their extensive footprint. We were trusted with 53 locations, including Pepsi and Frito Lay warehouses, distribution centers, and administrative offices throughout the U.S. They required a robust, scalable wireless network to support their growing operational needs. Our team was tasked with designing and implementing a comprehensive solution that involved constructing new Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs), installing state-of-the-art switches in the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to connect these IDFs, and laying down extensive fiber optic cabling from the MDF to the IDFs. Additionally, we ran all-new cabling for the access points to enhance the wireless network's reach and reliability. The project also entailed migrating existing network equipment into the newly installed IDF cabinets at several sites, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal operational disruption. Our tailored approach not only met PepsiCo's immediate needs but also equipped them with a future-proof network infrastructure, enabling efficiency and growth.
